Léon: The Professional (1994) — watch online on iFILM. Luc Besson's French crime thriller follows Léon Montana, a solitary cleaner-for-hire played by Jean Reno. He keeps no ties, asks no questions, and tends one potted plant. His routine cracks the morning a DEA squad wipes out his neighbors.
The only survivor is twelve-year-old Mathilda, played by a thirteen-year-old Natalie Portman in her film debut. She knocks on Léon's door, and against every instinct he opens it. Gary Oldman's corrupt DEA officer Stansfield — twitching, chewing pills, quoting Beethoven before ordering a massacre — turned into one of cinema's most recognisable villains.
Shot for $16 million by Gaumont, the film became a defining thriller of the nineties. A 4K restoration screened in cinemas for its 30th anniversary in 2024. Sting's "Shape of My Heart" closes it out. Stream Léon: The Professional (1994) in full on iFILM.
