About

Synopsis

The Living Daylights (1987) is the James Bond spy thriller you can watch online on iFILM. This is Timothy Dalton's first outing as 007, and his Bond plays harder and colder than the men who came before him.

The job sounds routine: cover the defection of Soviet general Koskov to the West. But the sniper sent to kill the defector turns out to be a young cellist, and Bond deliberately misses. From there the trail runs from a Bratislava concert hall to the markets of Tangier and the mountains of Afghanistan, where mujahideen fight the Red Army. Along the way come arms dealer Brad Whitaker, the two-faced Koskov, and Kara, the cellist caught inside someone else's scheme. Director John Glen keeps the pace tight, from an Aston Martin chase down an icy road to a brawl in a cargo net hanging out of a plane.

The film was a deliberate move to bring weight back to the series after the lighter Roger Moore years, trading gadgets for real menace. The Norwegian band a-ha supplied the title song. Stream The Living Daylights (1987) online on iFILM.
