Trumbo

The late 1940s. A congressional committee hauls Trumbo in and demands the names of fellow communists. He refuses, lands in prison, and ends up blacklisted — no studio will hire him under his real name. So he goes underground, churning out scripts behind pseudonyms and front men, even winning Oscars he cannot claim. At home stand his wife Cleo (Diane Lane) and daughter (Elle Fanning); around him orbit loyal actor Edward G. Robinson (Michael Stuhlbarg) and venomous gossip columnist Hedda Hopper, played by Helen Mirren.
