Jack (Griffin Dunne) is killed. David (David Naughton) survives and wakes up in a London hospital, healing far too fast, falling for a nurse named Alex (Jenny Agutter). Then his dead friend starts visiting him with bad news: the next full moon will change David's body, and nothing the doctors do can stop it.

Rick Baker's makeup earned the very first Academy Award ever given for Outstanding Makeup, and the practical transformation scene, done with no digital tricks, still gets copied today.
