About

Synopsis

Inside Llewyn Davis (2013) is the Coen brothers' folk-scene drama you can watch online on iFILM. Winter 1961, Greenwich Village, just before Dylan changed everything. A gifted but prickly singer drifts from couch to couch with his guitar and a stranger's ginger cat.

Llewyn — played and sung live by Oscar Isaac — is broke and burning every bridge he has. The folk duo Jim and Jean (Justin Timberlake and Carey Mulligan) are running out of patience. His record won't sell, and a long drive to Chicago to pitch a producer ends in humiliation, sharpened by a venomous jazzman played by John Goodman. Garrett Hedlund and Adam Driver turn up in smaller parts.

T Bone Burnett assembled the soundtrack, and the music isn't decoration here — every song is recorded for real, on camera. The film took the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival. It's a sad, funny, unsparing story about a talent who showed up at the wrong moment. Stream Inside Llewyn Davis (2013) online on iFILM.
