Synopsis
Like Stars on Earth (Taare Zameen Par, 2007) — watch online on iFILM: an Indian drama directed by and starring Aamir Khan, following eight-year-old Ishaan Awasthi, a boy who sees the world in vivid colours but can't get letters to stay still on a page. His parents call it laziness. His teachers call it failure.
When Ishaan is sent to boarding school as punishment for poor grades, he crumbles. The warmth he once found in drawing disappears under the weight of drills and report cards. Then a new art teacher, Ram Nikumbh, walks in — played by Khan himself — and recognises the boy not as a problem student but as a child with dyslexia and a striking visual gift. Darsheel Safary plays Ishaan in a debut performance that carries the film's entire emotional weight.
