About

Synopsis

I'm Thinking of Ending Things (2020) is the Charlie Kaufman psychological thriller you can watch online on iFILM. A drama laced with mystery and dread, it was made in the United States for Netflix and adapted from Iain Reid's novel.

A young woman rides through a snowstorm with her new boyfriend Jake to meet his parents on a remote farm. She is already weighing whether to end the relationship. Then reality slips. The parents age and de-age between rooms, the house bends time, and conversation loops back on itself like a memory that refuses to settle. Jessie Buckley and Jesse Plemons play the couple; Toni Collette and David Thewlis are the parents whose hospitality feels like a trap.

Kaufman, who wrote Being John Malkovich and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, turns a simple road trip into a puzzle about memory, loneliness and the lives we never lived. He hides the key in a high-school janitor whose scenes quietly cut through the story. The film never fully explains itself, and that is the point.
