The Upside

The Upside (2019) is a comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Neil Burger and based on a true story. Bryan Cranston plays Phillip, a quadriplegic billionaire living in a Manhattan penthouse. Kevin Hart plays Dell, a man fresh out of prison who stumbles into a caretaker interview mostly to check a probation box — and somehow lands the job.

Phillip has money, a garage of rare cars, and no use for careful nurses. Dell has no caregiving experience, an ex-girlfriend who doesn't want him around, and a teenage son who barely knows him. What starts as pure friction — Dell doesn't know how to manage a feeding tube, Phillip doesn't know how to ask for anything real — slowly turns into the kind of friendship neither of them expected. Nicole Kidman plays Phillip's chief of staff who watches the whole arrangement with open skepticism.
