Driving Lessons

Driving Lessons (2006) is a British coming-of-age comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Written and directed by Jeremy Brock, the 93-minute film stars Rupert Grint — fresh off the Harry Potter years — as Ben, a soft-spoken teenager raised under the thumb of his rigidly devout mother, played by Laura Linney.

Ben takes a job with Evie Walton, a retired stage actress who drinks too much, swears constantly and lives in glorious disarray. Julie Walters plays Evie and treats every scene like a controlled explosion. She hauls Ben to poetry readings, camping trips and strangers' kitchens, and slowly the boy who scheduled his days around church and his mother's approval starts finding out what he actually thinks about things.
