About

Synopsis

The Paper (1994) is a comedy drama directed by Ron Howard that you can watch online on iFILM. Michael Keaton, Robert Duvall, Glenn Close, and Marisa Tomei play the warring staff of a New York City tabloid with twenty-four hours to catch a story — or kill one.

Editor Henry Hackett learns that two innocent teenagers are about to be framed on the front page. Managing editor Alicia Clark has the presses ready to roll. Hackett has to stop the edition or live with a lie in print. Meanwhile his wife is nine months pregnant, the bills are piling up, and a rival paper is dangling a better salary. No one is sleeping tonight.

Ron Howard shot the film as a full-speed portrait of pre-internet newsroom life — the shouting, the deadlines, the moral corners cut under pressure. Stream The Paper (1994) online on iFILM.
