Invictus

Invictus (2009) is Clint Eastwood's history drama you can watch online on iFILM. Morgan Freeman plays Nelson Mandela in his first year as president, leading a country still split between black and white after the fall of apartheid.

Mandela reaches for an unlikely tool: rugby. The national side, the Springboks, had long stood for the old order in the eyes of black South Africans. With the 1995 World Cup about to be hosted at home, the president sits down with team captain Francois Pienaar (Matt Damon) and asks the team to win it all and give a fractured nation one reason to cheer together.

The title comes from a William Henley poem Mandela held onto during his years jailed on Robben Island. Eastwood skips the easy sports-movie beats and tells a quieter story about how a single gesture can move millions. Both Freeman and Damon earned Oscar nominations.
