Synopsis
The Gauntlet (1977) is a Clint Eastwood crime action thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Eastwood both directs and stars as Ben Shockley, a washed-up Phoenix cop drowning his disappointments in whiskey.
The job sounds routine: bring a witness back from Las Vegas for a minor trial. That witness (Sondra Locke) turns out to be a sharp-tongued prostitute with mob connections and dirt on a powerful official. Suddenly there's a price on both their heads, and getting to the courthouse alive looks impossible. Shockley and his prisoner snap at each other right up until the bullets force them to trust one another.
The film is remembered for two scenes of total overkill: a house and a city bus chewed apart by thousands of rounds. Eastwood made a hard-edged road movie about two cynics with nothing left to lose. Watch The Gauntlet (1977) online on iFILM.
