The Eiger Sanction

The Eiger Sanction (1975) is a spy action thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Clint Eastwood directs himself as Jonathan Hemlock — a retired government assassin who spends his days teaching art history at a college and quietly building a private collection of stolen masterpieces. The collection costs money. There is only one way to fund it.

A shadowy agency pulls Hemlock back in for one more job: eliminate a double agent hiding inside a mountain-climbing team. The catch — nobody knows which climber it is. That means Hemlock must rope up alongside his suspects and figure it out somewhere on the north face of the Eiger in the Swiss Alps. George Kennedy plays his rugged climbing mentor, a man who seems to know every rock and every secret on the mountain.

Eastwood performed the majority of the climbing sequences himself on location in Switzerland, and the production was genuinely dangerous — one crew member died during the shoot.
