Synopsis

Reporter Camille Preaker (Amy Adams) drives back to her small Missouri hometown of Wind Gap to cover the killings of two young girls. Waiting there are her glacial mother Adora (Patricia Clarkson), her teenage half-sister Amma (Eliza Scanlen), and the rooms that hold her oldest wounds. Camille drowns the past in vodka and carves words into her own skin. The deeper she digs into someone else's tragedy, the closer she circles her own.
The series adapts the debut novel by Gillian Flynn, who wrote Gone Girl. Vallée builds the story out of memory fragments: images flare and vanish like the thoughts of a woman who has had too much to drink.
