Synopsis
Rocky II (1979) is the boxing drama sequel you can watch online on iFILM, with Sylvester Stallone back as the Philadelphia underdog and stepping behind the camera as director for the first time.
The story picks up right after the fight. Rocky Balboa went fifteen rounds with champion Apollo Creed and lost on points, and now he wants out of the ring for good. He marries Adrian (Talia Shire), buys a flashy car and tries an ordinary life. It doesn't take. Commercials dry up, a meatpacking job falls through, and the money runs low. Creed (Carl Weathers), stung by fans who say his win was a fluke, pushes hard for a rematch to clear his name.
Trainer Mickey (Burgess Meredith) drags Rocky back to roadwork and the heavy bag, and the chase up those museum steps returns. Stallone keeps the focus less on punches than on a man torn between his pride and a wife terrified he'll get hurt.
