Synopsis
The Little Devil (Il piccolo diavolo, 1988) is an Italian fantasy comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Roberto Benigni wrote, directed, and stars as a small, cheerful demon just expelled from a woman's body during an exorcism — now with nowhere to go and no idea how humans work.
Father Maurice, the priest who performed the exorcism, finds himself stuck with the creature. Walter Matthau plays the patient, increasingly baffled clergyman opposite Benigni's unstoppable chaos. The pairing sounds unlikely and turns out to be one of the funnier cross-cultural comedy double acts of the era — Benigni's physical, elastic energy against Matthau's slow-burn exasperation.
