Synopsis

The Tiger and the Snow (La tigre e la neve, 2005) — watch online this Italian romantic drama written, directed, and starring Roberto Benigni on iFILM. The film runs 114 minutes and sends a lovesick poetry teacher into the middle of a war to save a woman who has never loved him back.

Attilio teaches poetry somewhere in Italy and dreams every night of the same woman: Vittoria. One day she turns up in waking life. He is smitten; she is not. She travels to Iraq with a poet friend named Fuad to research a book. Then the American invasion begins. Vittoria is badly wounded and falls into a coma. Attilio boards a plane to Baghdad — not out of heroism, simply because there is nowhere else for his love to go. Jean Reno plays Fuad; Nicoletta Braschi is Vittoria; Tom Waits appears as himself and sings at a dream wedding in the film's opening.

Benigni built a war film with no battle sequences. The conflict lives instead in absences — no medicine, no electricity, no matching blood type. The poetry teacher improvises, scavenges, and refuses to give up. Stream The Tiger and the Snow (2005) full movie online on iFILM.
