Synopsis
The Cheap Detective (1978) is a screwball noir parody you can watch online on iFILM. San Francisco, 1940. Private eye Lou Pekinpaugh lands in trouble when his partner turns up dead — awkward, given that the dead man's wife was Lou's mistress. The police investigation is aggressively incompetent. Then a mysterious Mrs. Montenegro arrives with three associates and a simple request: find a dozen diamond eggs.
