The Mechanic

Arthur Bishop works clean and leaves nothing behind. The jobs come in, the targets vanish, and he stays a ghost. Then his mentor Harry is gunned down, and Harry's son Steve turns up at his door wanting blood. Played by Ben Foster, the reckless kid begs to learn the trade. Bishop takes him on as a partner, even though the truth about Harry's death sits between them like a loaded gun.

This is a reworking of the 1972 Charles Bronson picture, rebuilt around Statham's brand of car chases, close-quarters fights and staged assassinations across a tight ninety-two minutes. Donald Sutherland and Tony Goldwyn round out the cast. Stream The Mechanic (2011) online on iFILM.
