Synopsis
The Virtuoso (2021) is a slow-burn crime thriller directed by Nick Stagliano — watch it online on iFILM. Anson Mount plays a professional hitman given a bare-minimum assignment: show up to a rural diner at five o'clock and kill someone. His boss, played by Anthony Hopkins in a cold, precise performance, provides no name, no photo, no description. Just the address and the hour.
When the hitman arrives, the diner has several candidates: a county sheriff played by David Morse, a waitress played by Abbie Cornish, and a handful of others. He sits, orders coffee, and watches. The longer he waits, the less certain he is about who is hunting whom. Eddie Marsan appears in a supporting role that reorders everything the viewer thought they knew.
