Civil War

Civil War (2024) is Alex Garland's war drama that you can watch online on iFILM. Set in a near-future America torn apart by armed conflict, it follows the country as a breakaway alliance of California and Texas closes in on Washington.

The story rides along with four journalists driving from New York toward the besieged capital, chasing one last interview with the president. Kirsten Dunst plays a photographer who stopped flinching at death long ago. Beside her are reporter Joel, played by Wagner Moura, veteran writer Sammy in Stephen McKinley Henderson, and Cailee Spaeny as a young photographer for whom every frame could be the last. Their road cuts through front lines, checkpoints and towns where no one wears an obvious side.

Produced by A24 as its most expensive film to date, the picture refuses to explain how the war began. Garland keeps the lens on the people documenting a nation's collapse, image by image.
