Silver Linings Playbook

Silver Linings Playbook (2012) is David O. Russell's tragicomedy you can watch online on iFILM. A former teacher leaves a psychiatric facility after eight months, moves back in with his parents and tries to rebuild a life that fell apart.

Pat, played by Bradley Cooper, has bipolar disorder, a restraining order from his ex-wife and one fixed idea: win her back no matter what. His father, an Eagles superstitious bookmaker played by Robert De Niro, trusts game-day rituals more than any prescription. At a friend's dinner Pat meets Tiffany, a recently widowed and equally volatile young woman played by Jennifer Lawrence. She offers a deal. She will smuggle a letter to his wife if he partners with her for an amateur dance competition.

Adapted from Matthew Quick's novel, the film earned Jennifer Lawrence the Academy Award for Best Actress at the age of 22. Cooper, De Niro and Jacki Weaver all picked up nominations too, a clean sweep of the four acting categories that almost never happens.
