Synopsis
Wish Dragon (2021) is an animated fantasy from Sony Pictures Animation — watch online on iFILM with family. Director Chris Appelhans set the story in modern Shanghai, where a broke college student named Din pulls an ancient teapot out of a street stall and releases a centuries-old wish-granting dragon called Long. Long has been locked inside the pot for so long that contemporary life is completely foreign to him — which makes for half the comedy. Din has just one thing on his mind: tracking down his childhood best friend Lili, who moved into a very different world after her family struck it rich. Voice cast includes Jimmy Wong, Constance Wu and John Cho. The film blends Chinese folklore with a story about what people actually want versus what they think they want.
