City of Angels

City of Angels (1998) is a romantic fantasy you can watch online on iFILM. Director Brad Silberling loosely reworks Wim Wenders' Wings of Desire, moving the story from Berlin to sunlit Los Angeles.

Seth (Nicolas Cage) is an angel. He walks unseen among people, escorts the dying and hears every passing thought, yet he cannot taste, feel pain or be touched. Then he notices Maggie (Meg Ryan), a heart surgeon who loses a patient on the table and refuses to make peace with it. Seth breaks the rules and lets her see him. What grows between them is something an angel is not supposed to have, and to keep it he would give up immortality and fall into an ordinary mortal life, with all its ache and fragility.
