Synopsis

Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007) is Jake Kasdan's musical comedy, available to watch online on iFILM. John C. Reilly plays a made-up rock legend whose life story sends up every solemn music biopic ever made.

Dewey's rise begins with a childhood disaster, in which he accidentally slices his brother clean in half, and then sweeps through every era of American music. Rockabilly, folk, psychedelia, disco, the man reinvents his sound with each passing decade. Along the way come 411 lovers, a swarm of kids, run-ins with Elvis and the Beatles, a pet chimp, and an addiction to every drug imaginable, each one offered with the warning that he definitely will not like it.

Co-written by Judd Apatow, the film takes precise aim at Walk the Line and Ray. Jenna Fischer, Kristen Wiig and Tim Meadows join the ride. Silly, tuneful and sharper about the genre than it has any right to be. Stream Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007) online on iFILM.
