Guy Ritchie's The Covenant

Guy Ritchie's The Covenant (2023) is a war action thriller you can watch online on iFILM. US Army Sergeant John Kinley survives Afghanistan only because a local interpreter named Ahmed refuses to leave him behind.

When an ambush wipes out most of Kinley's unit, the wounded sergeant (Jake Gyllenhaal) is dragged for days across hostile terrain by Ahmed (Dar Salim), who carries him to safety on foot. Back home, Kinley learns the visas promised to Ahmed and his family never came through, and the Taliban is now hunting the man who saved him. The debt eats at him. So he flies back into the war zone alone, off the books, to get Ahmed out.

Ritchie, usually known for slick crime capers, drops the wisecracks here for a hard, stripped-down story about loyalty and the thousands of Afghan allies left behind after the withdrawal.
