Unbroken

Unbroken (2014) is Angelina Jolie's wartime drama, and you can watch it online on iFILM. It follows Louis Zamperini, a former Olympic runner turned bombardier on a U.S. plane patrolling the Pacific.

When his aircraft goes down, Zamperini and a crewmate spend 47 days adrift on a raft, fighting thirst, sharks and even strafing fire from a Japanese fighter. Rescue brings no relief. They land in a prison camp run by a guard nicknamed the Bird, who singles Louis out for daily cruelty. Jack O'Connell plays a man beaten down again and again who simply refuses to break. Japanese musician Miyavi is chilling as his tormentor.

The screenplay came from the Coen brothers, built on Laura Hillenbrand's bestselling account of the real Zamperini, who lived to 97. Jolie skips the usual battlefield grandeur — the whole war fits into one face and one unbending spine. Stream Unbroken (2014) online on iFILM.
