Skyfire

Skyfire (2019) is a Chinese disaster action film you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Simon West (Con Air, The Expendables 2), it follows seismologist Xiaomeng, played by Wang Xueqi, who returns to the Pacific island where her mother died in a volcanic eruption twenty years earlier — this time leading a scientific team installing an early-warning monitoring system.

The timing is terrible. A luxury resort is opening at the base of the volcano while the team sets up equipment on the slopes. The resort's owner, played by Jason Isaacs, has no interest in evacuation plans. When the mountain begins to erupt mid-season, thousands of tourists are caught between the lava flows and the sea. Xiaomeng's long-buried grief for her mother turns into the one thing that keeps her functioning when the pyroclastic clouds begin to roll down the hillside.
