Starman

Starman (1984) is John Carpenter's sci-fi romance, and you can watch it online on iFILM. An alien answers the Voyager II invitation, lands in Wisconsin, and copies the dead husband of a grieving young widow.

Jenny Hayden (Karen Allen) wakes to find a stranger wearing her late husband's face. The visitor (Jeff Bridges) barely grasps how humans work, but he knows one thing: he needs a ride to Arizona within three days or his body will fail. So the two of them drive cross-country while soldiers and agents hunt the living alien for study. Along the way the traveler learns the very thing he came for — what it means to love someone and to lose them.

Carpenter, the man behind Halloween and The Thing, made this one without a single monster. Bridges earned an Academy Award nomination for playing the wordless visitor, rare for genre films of the era.
