Synopsis

Mission Galactica: The Cylon Attack (1979) is an American sci-fi film cut from episodes of the original Battlestar Galactica television series — watch it online on iFILM, with Lorne Greene, Richard Hatch, and Dirk Benedict.

The colonial fleet is running out of fuel while staying one jump ahead of the Cylons. Then the long-missing Battlestar Pegasus reappears, commanded by Admiral Cain — and Cain's idea of survival looks nothing like Commander Adama's. Cain wants to hit back hard. Adama wants to keep the civilians alive. The argument doesn't get to finish before the Cylons make the next move.

Assembled from episodes 10–12 and 21 of the series, the film was released theatrically in 1979 as a standalone feature — a common move in the post-Star Wars era when TV space operas briefly got the big-screen treatment. For viewers who know the show, it's a compressed cut of the Pegasus arc without the slower character beats in between; for newcomers, it works as a propulsive, no-frills space adventure from a franchise that predates the gritty reboot by decades.
