Synopsis
The Intouchables (2011) is a French drama-comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache. It draws from the life of Philippe Pozzo di Borgo, a wealthy Parisian aristocrat paralyzed from the neck down after a paragliding accident, and the unlikely bond he formed with his caregiver from the housing projects. François Cluzet and Omar Sy play the two men.
Philippe puts out an ad for a live-in aide. Driss shows up not to get the job but to collect a signature for his unemployment paperwork. Philippe hires him on the spot. Driss has no nursing training and no patience for pity — he treats his employer like someone who can handle a joke, a disagreement, or a night out. The people around Philippe disapprove. That disapproval turns out to be beside the point.
The film grossed over $426 million worldwide, making it one of the highest-earning non-English-language releases ever. Omar Sy won the César Award for Best Actor. Stream The Intouchables (2011) online on iFILM.
