Waterworld

Waterworld (1995) is Kevin Reynolds' post-apocalyptic action film, free to watch online on iFILM. The ice caps have melted, dry land is gone, and survivors cling to rusting floating atolls.

Kevin Costner plays the Mariner, a gilled, web-fingered drifter who trades handfuls of real dirt dredged from the ocean floor. Mistaken for a spy on one atoll, he is nearly executed before two people get him out: the barmaid Helen (Jeanne Tripplehorn) and a girl named Enola, whose back carries a tattooed map to the rumored Dryland. Hunting that map is the Deacon, a pirate ruling a corroded oil tanker, played by Dennis Hopper with gleeful menace.

On release it was the most expensive movie ever made, the budget swallowed by enormous sets built on the open sea off Hawaii. The film later earned a cult following for its grim aquatic world, its trimarans and its stunts done without CGI. Stream Waterworld (1995) online on iFILM.
