Synopsis

In the final winter of the war, eight-year-old Hannibal loses his parents and then his little sister Mischa, when starving deserters seize the family's hunting lodge and do something he will never let go. Years on, the grown Hannibal (Gaspard Ulliel) flees to France and the home of his widowed aunt, Lady Murasaki (Gong Li), a Japanese noblewoman who teaches him the discipline of the sword. He enrolls in medical school, masters anatomy, and hunts down the men responsible for Mischa's death one by one.
