Synopsis
Frankie & Alice (2010) is a psychological drama and thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Director Geoffrey Sax based the film on a real case: Frankie Bell, a Los Angeles go-go dancer in the 1970s, lives with multiple personalities — one of them a white racist who surfaces without warning and tears apart the life Frankie is trying to hold together. Halle Berry won a Golden Globe for the performance.
Stellan Skarsgård plays the psychiatrist who takes on Frankie's case, slowly excavating a buried childhood trauma that explains the fracture. The film runs 101 minutes and skips the genre-thriller shorthand in favor of something more deliberate — two actors building genuine unease scene by scene. Phylicia Rashad and Chandra Wilson round out the cast.
It's less a film about a condition and more about a woman refusing to disappear inside her own mind. Stream Frankie & Alice (2010) online on iFILM.
