Synopsis
Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985) is a family comedy and Tim Burton's first feature, and you can watch it online on iFILM. When man-child Pee-wee Herman has his beloved bicycle stolen, he sets off across America to get it back.
That bike means everything to Pee-wee. After a fortune-teller tells him to look in the basement of the Alamo, the grown-up kid in the tight grey suit hits the road. He runs into bikers, an escaped convict, the ghostly trucker Large Marge, and a whole gallery of oddballs who throw him off course. Paul Reubens plays the lead, having invented the Pee-wee character years earlier on stage.
Burton turned a simple chase after a bicycle into a parade of visual gags, scored by Danny Elfman in the first of their many films together. Critics shrugged at the time, yet the movie became a cult favorite that fans still quote line for line. Stream Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985) online on iFILM.
