Synopsis
A Woman of Paris: A Drama of Fate (1923) is a silent drama directed by Charlie Chaplin — watch it online on iFILM. Edna Purviance plays Marie St. Clair, who leaves her small town after a misunderstanding with her artist fiancé and rebuilds her life in the French capital as the companion of the wealthy Pierre Revel, played by Adolphe Menjou.
A chance reunion with Jean a year later forces Marie to weigh comfort against the love she once walked away from. Chaplin himself barely appears on screen — he handed the spotlight to his leading lady and concentrated on directing. The film is noted for its restrained, psychologically sharp storytelling, unusual for the era. Watch A Woman of Paris (1923) in good quality online on iFILM.
