Synopsis
The Book of Solutions (Le Livre des solutions, 2023) — a French comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM. Director Michel Gondry, known for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, turns the camera on the madness of filmmaking itself. Pierre Niney plays Marc, a volatile director convinced his producers are destroying his vision.
Marc steals the rushes off the editing suite and flees to his aunt's house in the Cévennes countryside, dragging his crew along. There, each morning brings a new brainwave, the actual edit never happens, and the people around him inch closer to collapse. Blanche Gardin and Françoise Lebrun play two women who love Marc but are running very low on patience.
