Synopsis

Britt Reid has coasted his whole life on his father's newspaper fortune in Los Angeles. Parties, no purpose, no plan. Then his dad dies. Teaming up with Kato (Jay Chou), a brilliant mechanic and martial artist who also brews a mean cup of coffee, Britt hatches a strange scheme: pose as criminals so they can get close enough to take down the real ones. Cameron Diaz plays his sharp assistant Lenore, while Christoph Waltz turns mob boss Chudnofsky into a villain obsessed with being feared.
Gondry reworks the old radio-serial hero into a loud, gadget-heavy ride built around the armored car Black Beauty, fast fights, and two partners who keep arguing over who's actually the sidekick.
