Synopsis
Salyut-7 (2017) is a Russian space drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Klim Shipenko. It reconstructs one of the most extraordinary rescues in the history of human spaceflight: in the summer of 1985, the Soviet orbital station went dark — no signal, no control, adrift in orbit with no one aboard.
The mission to bring it back fell to seasoned cosmonaut Vladimir Dzhanibekov (Vladimir Vdovichenkov) and his engineer colleague Viktor Savinykh (Pavel Derevyanko). When their spacecraft docked, what they found inside was a ghost ship: walls thick with frost, systems dead, temperature below freezing. With no heating and no power, two men worked through it piece by piece — manually coaxing a frozen hulk back into a functioning station, with no certainty it could be done.
Shipenko keeps the camera close and the spaces tight, making the physical reality of the work land hard. The film became a major box-office success in Russia and holds up as a grounded, fact-rooted account of extraordinary engineering under pressure. Stream Salyut-7 (2017) in full on iFILM.
