X-Men (2000) is Bryan Singer's superhero action film you can watch online on iFILM. In a near future, some people are born different — mutants, gifted with powers the rest of humanity has learned to fear.

Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) runs a school where young mutants learn to control their abilities and live among ordinary people. His old friend Magneto (Ian McKellen) draws the opposite conclusion: if humans will always hate mutants, then strike first. Caught between them are two drifters — the clawed loner Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Rogue (Anna Paquin), a runaway who drains the life from anyone she touches. Xavier's team, including Cyclops, Storm and Jean Grey, has to stop Magneto before his plan turns irreversible.

This is the film that kicked off the modern comic-book era. Before it, the genre was stalling; after it, every studio went hunting for a Marvel property of its own.
