Synopsis
Dallas Buyers Club (2013) is a drama from director Jean-Marc Vallée that you can watch online on iFILM. It follows Ron Woodroof, a hard-living Texas electrician and rodeo rider whose doctors once gave him only weeks to live.
Told he has HIV and barely a month left, Woodroof refuses to lie down and wait. He smuggles in medicines that American regulators have not cleared, tests them on his own body, and once he sees what helps, he starts passing them to other patients outside the reach of pharmacies and clinics. Out of that grows an underground club where a membership fee buys the treatments the official system is still holding back. Matthew McConaughey shed a startling amount of weight for the part, playing opposite Jared Leto as the trans woman Rayon and Jennifer Garner as Dr. Eve Saks.
