Starship Troopers (1997) is Paul Verhoeven's sci-fi action war film you can watch online on iFILM. In the late 23rd century, humanity is locked in an interstellar war against giant intelligent insects, and citizenship is something you earn by enlisting.

Fresh out of high school, Johnny Rico signs up for the Mobile Infantry — partly to chase Carmen, who left for flight school. His telepathic friend Carl heads into intelligence, while Dizzy, quietly in love with Rico, ends up in the same brutal boot camp. From there it's drop ships, trenches, and waves of arachnids tearing through the ranks. Casper Van Dien, Dina Meyer, Denise Richards, and a young Neil Patrick Harris play a generation the army feeds into the meat grinder with a grin.

Verhoeven wasn't really making a bug-hunt movie. Underneath the gore sits a sharp satire of militarism and propaganda, with in-universe recruitment ads punctuating the carnage — a joke on fascist aesthetics that plenty of viewers only caught years later.
