Synopsis

After being expelled for bullying a disabled classmate, Julian gets a visit from his grandmother Sara. She has never spoken about her own childhood — until now. In the France of 1942, she was a Jewish girl whose neighbours were being taken away one by one. Julien, a quiet boy whom the other children mocked just as cruelly as Julian once mocked Auggie, hid her in his family's barn and kept the secret for months. He had no obvious reason to. It cost him everything he had.
