Synopsis
Kids (1995) is Larry Clark's crime drama, and you can watch it online on iFILM. It tracks a single summer day among bored New York teenagers drifting around downtown Manhattan with no adults in sight.
Telly is convinced that sleeping with virgins keeps him clean of disease, so he hunts the youngest girls he can find. Jennie, who slept with him exactly once, gets a diagnosis that sends her chasing him across the sweltering city. While she searches, the rest of the crew skates, drinks, steals and brawls through one apartment after another. Early performances from Chloe Sevigny and Rosario Dawson feel less like acting than eavesdropping.
Written by a 21-year-old Harmony Korine, the film was shot so close to the skin that critics argued whether it was cinema or fieldwork. It detonated at Sundance, earned an NC-17 rating, and stands as a cold, unmoralizing snapshot of 90s youth. Stream Kids (1995) online on iFILM.
