Synopsis
A Late Quartet (2012) — watch online on iFILM. Director Yaron Zilberman's chamber drama brings together Christopher Walken, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Catherine Keener, and Mark Ivanir as four musicians who have shared a stage for twenty-five years. Then the cellist's diagnosis arrives, and the anniversary tour suddenly looks like a farewell.
Old grievances surface fast. Hoffman's viola player finally demands equal rotation — a request buried for decades. Walken's cellist refuses to step aside gracefully. Keener and Ivanir are caught between loyalty and their own quietly fractured marriage. Imogen Poots plays the daughter pulled into the orbit of their collapse.
Zilberman frames the breakdown not as melodrama but as a slow, precise dismantling — each argument scored against Beethoven's Op. 131. The film rewards patience: it cares about what holds people together long past the point of reason, and what finally doesn't. Watch A Late Quartet online on iFILM.
