Synopsis
Blame (2018) is a drama you can watch online on iFILM, written, directed, and co-starring Quinn Shephard, who was twenty-two when she made it. Abigail comes back to her suburban high school after time in a psychiatric facility — no friends, no footing, and a target on her back from cheerleader Melissa the moment she walks in.
The drama teacher casts Abigail as Abigail Williams in The Crucible, and a charged dynamic grows between student and teacher during rehearsals. Melissa sees it. What follows is less a single accusation than a slow-spreading rumor that the whole school turns into a verdict. Nadia Alexander plays Melissa with a sharp, convincing edge — not a cartoon bully but someone who genuinely believes she has been wronged.
Shephard draws the parallel to Salem deliberately and without subtlety, because that's the point. Shot on a micro-budget and picked up on the festival circuit, the film refuses to hand out clean victims or clean villains. Stream Blame (2018) online on iFILM.
