Synopsis
Last Night in Soho (2021) is Edgar Wright's psychological horror, and you can watch online on iFILM. The director of Baby Driver trades fast cars for the neon haze of 1960s London, where a dream slowly turns rotten.
Eloise leaves her grandmother's home to study fashion design in the city. She can't settle into student life, so she rents a worn room from an elderly landlady. The first night she falls asleep and wakes up in Soho circa 1965, living inside the body of Sandie, a glamorous singer chasing the spotlight. At first it feels like everything Eloise ever wanted. Then the glamour curdles: behind the clubs lies exploitation and worse, and the past starts bleeding into her waking days. Thomasin McKenzie and Anya Taylor-Joy carry the two women linked across time, with Matt Smith plus screen veterans Terence Stamp and Diana Rigg.
Wright shoots it as a love letter to giallo and 1970s horror, all mirrors, color and period pop. It was Diana Rigg's final film role. Stream Last Night in Soho (2021) online on iFILM.
