Sesame Street (1969) is a PBS kids' series you can watch online on iFILM. Launched on November 10, 1969 by the Children's Television Workshop, it has run for 56 seasons and more than 3,500 episodes — still in production more than five decades on.

The show is set on a single city block where humans and Muppets share daily life. Ryan Dillon voices Elmo, who tackles letters and numbers with the patience of someone who genuinely loves learning. Frank Oz originated Bert, the meticulous roommate whose arguments with Ernie have been making kids laugh since the Nixon administration. Martin P. Robinson gives voice to both Telly Monster and the lumbering Snuffleupagus. Each episode weaves short segments — songs, cartoons, street scenes — around one concrete idea: counting to ten, the meaning of "above," how to say sorry.

Created with input from child development researchers, Sesame Street was the first TV program built around an educational curriculum designed by academics before a single frame was filmed.
