About

Synopsis

Lincoln (2012) is Steven Spielberg's historical drama, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Daniel Day-Lewis plays the 16th US president during the final months of his life.

It is the winter of 1865. The Civil War is nearly won, yet Lincoln is in a hurry. He wants the House of Representatives to pass the Thirteenth Amendment and abolish slavery for good before peace arrives and the political momentum slips away. The votes aren't there. So the president bargains, flatters, and quietly buys off wavering congressmen, while managing his own fractured circle: his grieving wife Mary (Sally Field), a son itching to enlist, and cabinet members who urge him to wait. Tommy Lee Jones, as the abrasive radical Thaddeus Stevens, sharpens every backroom exchange.

This isn't a marble-statue biopic. Spielberg builds the film out of arguments, deals, and long pauses rather than battlefields, turning lawmaking into suspense. Day-Lewis took home the Academy Award for the role. Watch Lincoln (2012) online on iFILM.
