Greyhound

Greyhound (2020) is a WWII war thriller with Tom Hanks that you can watch online on iFILM. A first-time destroyer captain takes command of an Allied convoy crossing the North Atlantic, with German wolfpacks waiting somewhere below the waves.

Commander Ernest Krause has to shepherd dozens of merchant ships through the mid-ocean stretch where no air cover can reach them. For days there is nothing but cold water, the radio net, and U-boats hunting in the dark. He barely sleeps. One wrong bearing costs hundreds of lives, and every order he gives over the voice tube could be his last. Hanks wrote the screenplay himself, adapting C. S. Forester's novel The Good Shepherd, and the film almost never leaves the bridge.

Director Aaron Schneider strips the sea battle down to clipped commands and reports from the gunnery posts, with no swelling music telling you how to feel. Stephen Graham and Rob Morgan round out the crew, and at ninety minutes the film wastes nothing. Stream Greyhound (2020) online on iFILM.
